A pilot who threatened to kill UK Independent Party (UKIP) leader Nigel Farage following a plane crash has been found dead.

Justin Adams, 48, had been found dead in his Sussex home, police said.

Police discovered the body of Adams on November 12, The Independent newspaper reported.

His death was not being treated as suspicious and an inquest had been opened and adjourned, police said.

Adams was convicted at Oxford Crown Court in June 2011, of making five threats relating to Farage and crash investigator Martin James after the accident in May 2010.

The crash in Northamptonshire, on the day of the 2010 general election, left both self-employed pilot Adams and Farage in hospital.

Adams was eventually cleared of any blame, but accused Farage of "ruining his life" and became angry that the official investigation had taken so long to complete.
