Police summons CPI-M leader over controversial speech

Press Trust of India Idukki (Ker)

According to police sources, Mani had been asked to appear on June 6 before the special investigation team set up to inquire his "revelation", which embarrassed the CPI-M and caught political circles in the state by surprise.

The police notice had been sent to Mani's house here and the DYFI office at Kunchithanni in the district. There was no confirmation whether the notice had been received by Mani.

Police had earlier this week registered a case against Mani on charges of murder, abetment and concealing information based on his speech at Thodupuzha last week.
