Pondy pays homage to former prez

Puducherry Lt Governor A K Singh today paid homage to the portrait of the former President on the premises of Rajnivas.

Chief Minister N.Rangasamy paid floral tributes to the portrait of Kalam on the premises of the Assembly.

Speaker V Sabapathy, Ministers, legislators and officials were among those who paid homage.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of the Pondicherry University Chandra Krishnamoorthy said in a release that the University had being going ahead with its arrangements to hold its convocation with Kalam as the chief guest.

The University had invited the former President to present the convocation address and hand over degree certificates to the graduates.
 

"Our aspiration cannot be fulfilled with the death of Kalam," the Vice Chancellor said in a release today, expressing grief over his demise.
