Priyanshu in Bengali flick by Bollywood director

Press Trust of India  |  Kolkata

Soaking the adulation for his intense portrayals in back to back Sunyo Awnko and mainstream romantic-thriller genre Ei Raat Tomar Amar, Tum Bin actor Priyanshu Chatterjee is all set to turn up in the upcoming flick of a Bollywood director.

"This is a comedy. A laugh riot by director Vivek Sharma of Bhoothnath and Kal Kissne Dekha fame. And most importantly it is being made in Bengali, so it bridges the two ends - my Bollywood connection and Bengali roots," the 'Jyotirindranath Tagore' in Moner Manush told PTI at the premier of Ei Raat Tomar Amar last evening.

"I play a nerd, a go-getter boss in office who is a bit weird at times. It is more in the feel of old classic HIndi films made by a Bengali director in Mumbai," Priyanshu said.

The film, hilariously named Amar Taka Kothay (Where is my money), will mostly be shot in Kolkata and surrounding areas and north India. The film is going to be multi-lingual and shooting starts in early October.

"In a way I will again get to visit my city and places as the shoot happens. I love Kolkata outdoors, the smell of the place," Priyanshu, who affirms having concurred doing Ei Raat Tomar Amar because of the literary part of the script having strong influences of English literature, said. Meghna Halder is another important cast member of the middle budget Bengali flick Ei Raat.
