Programme to help 1 lakh kids resume their education: Irani

Union Smriti Irani today said the Rotary Club of has partnered with her ministry to help one lakh children, who had stopped going to school due to various reasons, to continue with their education.

"The HRD Ministry will undertake the initiative to ensure that one lakh children, who had to drop out of school for various reasons back, can resume their education," Irani told reporters.

She also announced that Mansi Mahumkar, a blind mallakhamb player from as the brand ambassador of HRD ministry's 'Swachh Abhiyan'.

Irani participated in a programme organised by in partnership with Rotary to launch the 'YES! i am the CHANGE- Responsible Youth Citizen' a national movement to engage youth in India's social transformation.

Over one crore youths across the country would be empowered to work towards women's safety, clean and harnessing media to accelerate inclusive development. A force of two lakh youth ambassadors will be developed to actively promote the movement pan-
