Authorities in Puerto Rico say they have seized 500 kg of cocaine worth an estimated USD 11.5 million.
Police Superintendent Jose Caldero says the drug was seized near the small neighboring island of Vieques that is popular with tourists.
He said yesterday that police arrested eight people and seized three cars and nearly USD 1,500 in cash after receiving an anonymous tip.
Caldero said it is one of the largest drug seizures this year.
