A day after its MLA from Talwandi Sabo, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, quit the party to join the ruling SAD, the opposition Congress today accused him of being an "opportunist".
"Sidhu has a track record of back stabbing and he is opportunist to the core," Punjab Congress leaders in a statement said.
The Congress leaders, including Gurpreet Singh Kangar, vice president PPCC, Harminder Singh Jassi, general secretary PPCC, and MLAs Ajaib Singh Bhatti, Joginder Singh Panjgrain, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Ajit Inder Singh Mofar said that Sidhu was in SAD before 1997 and jumped the fence after ditching the Akalis.

"He was a mole of SAD in Congress and betrayed the faith of leadership to fetch inside information of party," they charged.
They said that Sidhu had won the assembly seat due to support of Congress party workers.
"By deserting the Congress, Jeet Mohinder has lost his credibility and he will not be of any use in SAD," they said.
Yesterday, two of the senior Congress leaders from Punjab, including former minister Malkiat Singh Birmi, had resigned from the party and joined the ruling SAD.
