A state-level coordination committee formed for tobacco control today asked officials to carry out an awareness campaign to inform people about the harm due to tobacco use.
Chairing the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary O P Meena said young people, school students in particular, should be covered under the awareness programme to inform them about the hazards of tobacco.
He also directed officials to work for implementation of provisions which are in place to demoralise people using tobacco and asked them to seek assistance of NCC, Scouts and Guides volunteers in the awareness programme.
