Rajasthan posted 160 for seven courtesy a solid batting effort before restricting Uttar Pradesh for 144 for 9 in 20 overs.
UP Opener Prashant Gupta's 59 went in vain as did the bowling effort of pacer R P Singh, who took two wickets for 27 in four overs.

In another match at the Holkar Stadium here, Madhya Pradesh edged Railways by four runs for their first win the T20 tournament.
Opener Mohnish Mishra struck 60 off 35 balls to propel Madhya Pradesh to 168 for six.
Railways, playing their first game of the competition, fell short despite a spirited chase highlighted best by a blistering 67 off 47 balls from Arindam Ghosh.
In the end, Ghosh's run out in the 17th over proved costly for Railways.
