Rajkumar takes charge as Mayor

Ganapati P Rajkumar today took charge as Mayor of the City corporation, at a function here.

Rajkumar, contesting as AIADMK Candidate had defeated BJP's R Nandakumar by over a margin of 2.9 lakh votes in the by-polls held on Sept 18, which was necessitated by the resignation of S M Velusamy, also of AIADMK.

State minister, S P Velumani, AIADMK MPs, sitting and former AIADMK MLAs, party leaders and senior district and police officials were present at the ceremony.
