Ravenshaw Honoris Causa for German historian

Eminent German historian and Indologist Professor Hermann Kulke, a founder member of Odisha Research Project and a former visiting professor of Utkal University, will receive the Honoris Causa award of Ravenshaw University this year.

Educationist K Kasturirangan, jurist and former Supreme Court judge Ananga Kumar Patnaik, eminent writers Ramakanta Rath and Pratibha Ray, sculptor Raghunath Mohapatra, social activist Tulasi Munda and medical practitioner Girijanandan Mohapatra would also be honoured on the convocation day of the University on August 23.

According to a release issued by the University authorities today, the Chancellor and state Governor S C Jamir approved the names of these eminent persons to receive the distinguished honours of D.Sc, D. Litt, and LL.D.
 

Justice Patnaik would get LL.D and Professors Kasturirangan and Girijanandan would get D.Sc while the remaining would get D.Litt, the highest academic degrees of the University.
