Extending gains for the second day, refined soya oil prices advanced by 0.15 per cent to Rs 739.75 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators raised their bets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in August went up by Rs 1.10, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 739.75 per 10 kg with an open interest of 28,020 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September edged up by 50 paise, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 732.85 per 10 kg in 39,690 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by traders on the back of rising demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts kept refined soya oil prices higher in futures trade.
