A Village Revenue Officer (VRO) was caught red handed today while he was allegedly accepting bribe at Kataram mandal headquarters in the district, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials said.
VRO L Tirupathi of Maha Mutharam mandal had allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 from a farmer for mutating his name in revenue records.
Vexed with the repeated demands of the VRO, the farmer approached the ACB officials.

Accordingly, Tirupathi was trapped while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant at Kataram mandal headquarters, nearly 130 kms from here.
"The VRO was arrested and will be produced before the ACB Special Court in Karimnagar," officials added.
