Robbers strike Delhi businessman's house

Unidentified robbers struck at the residence of a businessman in Outer Delhi's Narela in the wee hours here today and decamped with around 600 grams of gold and Rs 1.5 lakh cash, police said.

The incident took place when Gauri Shankar, a builder, and his family had gone to the airport to see off his son.

"Shankar and his family had left home around 2 AM to drop his son to the Indira Gandhi International airport. When they returned home around 5 AM they found that the door lock was broken and the house was ransacked," said a police official.
 

A PCR call was made at 5:35 AM by Shankar.

A case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at the Narela police station.

"Shankar told us that around 600 grams of gold and approximately Rs 1.5 lakh cash was robbed from his house. We are also scanning the CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the identity of the robbers," the official said.
