Salesman shot at for resisting loot bid

A 32-year-old salesman was shot dead while allegedly attempting to resist a loot bid by two unidentified miscreants at a shop here, police said today.

The incident occurred last night when the victim, Jaideep, was at the shop at Delhi bus terminus in Badaut and the armed miscreants barged in and tried to loot cash, police said.

When he tried to resist them, the suspects opened fire at him and fled the spot, they said , adding, Jaideep succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to hospital.

A case has been lodged and efforts were on to nab the accused, police said.
