A large number of safai karamcharis (sanitation staff) of the Rewari Municipal Council today held a demonstration outside the residence of Haryana Power Minister Ajay Yadav to protest against the dismissal of 100 contractual safai karamcharis.
Expressing resentment over the dismissal, state president of the All India Safai Mazdoor Orgainsation Krishan Kumar Bidlan said, "If they are not reinstated, they will be compelled to intensify their agitation."
Bidlan said as the state minister was out of station, he spoke to him over the phone and was assured by him that the matter would be resolved soon.
