Parking woes have hit the Supreme Court which today asked the Centre to find a solution to the problem, saying its premises were "choked" with heavy traffic.
"It is for you to find solution. Do something concrete. Not doing anything creates an impression that you are avoiding it," a bench headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha said, adding the "Supreme Court is virtually choked".
The bench also said that people are using heavy vehicles instead of using cycles. It cited how a former Supreme Court judge, who was to join International Court of Justice, was asked whether he would prefer a new or old cycle for commutation in Hague in Netherland.
"Why don't you reduce the inflow of cars in the Supreme Court," the bench said.
The bench was hearing a PIL filed by Indian Council of Legal Aid and Advice seeking its direction to government to explore ways to mitigate parking woes in the Supreme Court.
