Select commodity prices move up

Prices of urad dal, gram dal and sugar increased, while wheat prices decreased in the wholesale food grain market during the week ending today.

Urad opened the week at Rs 8,800, a fall of Rs 200 per quintal from its previous closing rate of Rs 9,000 and traded at the same rate up to Thursday and increased by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 9,200 from Friday onwards.

On Monday, gram dal rose by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 5,200 from its previous rate of Rs 5,000 and maintained the same trend till today.

Sugar declined by Rs 30 per quintal on Monday to 2,750 from its previous rate of Rs 2,780 and increased by Rs 20 to Rs 2,800 on Friday and continued the same rate today.
 

In contrast, wheat decreased by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 2,900 from its previous rate of Rs 3,000 from Friday.

However, toor dal (Rs 9,800), moong dal (Rs 10,000), maida (90 kg) (Rs 2 500) and sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,000) ruled steady throughout the week.
