Select sugar mill gate prices rise on better offtake

Select sugar mill gate prices remained in demand and gained Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on pause in supplies amid increased offtake.

Marketmen said apart from less arrivals from mills coupled with better offtake by stockist and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers to meet ongoing wedding season demand, mainly kept sugar mill gate prices upward for the second straight day today.

Meanwhile, sugar spot prices maintained overnight closing levels on adequate stocks.

In mill gate section, sugar Dhampur and Modinagar gained by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,500 and Rs 3,470 per quintal.
 

Prices of Mawana and Khatuli also moved up by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,570 and Rs 3,600 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 38.00-42.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,750-3,900, S-30 Rs 3,740-3,890.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,490-3,630, S-30 Rs 3,480-3,620.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,570, Kinnoni Rs 3,630, Asmoli Rs 3,580, Dorala Rs 3,570, Budhana Rs 3,560, Thanabhavan Rs 3,550, Dhanora Rs 3,520, Simbholi Rs 3,580, Khatuli Rs 3,600, Dhampur Rs 3,500, Sakoti 3,500, Modinagar 3,470, Shamli 3,495, Ramala not available, Anupshaher N.A, Baghpat N.A.,Morna N.A., Chandpur N.A., Nazibabad N.A and Nanota N.A.
