Sesa's football academy in Goa to train children

The school was formally launched by Sesa Goa's managing director P K Mukherjee, who is also a president of Sesa Football Academy.
The first batch of 28 boys studying in schools in the adjacent areas of Bicholim, Thivim and Sirsaim were commissioned in SFS today, who will be trained twice a week over the next two years.
"We are trying to catch them young," Mukherjee said.
The boys are under 14-years of age, who will graduate into SFA at a later stage.
"The best age to train boys in football is between 8-10," SFA's administrator Brahmanand Shakhwalkar, former captain of Indian Football Team, told PTI.

He said that the boys would be trained in skill, discipline and will be educated about all facets of football.
State government-run Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) has spared two coaches for SFS.
SFA officials said that the academy which started in the year 1998 has trained 93 boys, some of whom have represented India internationally and many are pursuing their football career in major clubs.
Adil Khan, one of the alumnis of SFA, was felicitated during the launching of SFS, as he represented India as a part of the national team in the AFC Challenge Cup.
