Seven killed in separate road mishaps in AP

Seven persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Visakhapatnam and Guntur districts of the state today, police said.

Four persons travelling in a jeep, including its driver, were killed and three others injured in Paderu agency area in Visakhapatnam district when the vehicle rammed into a tree on a ghat road, they said.

In all, 20 persons were travelling in the jeep when it hit the tree trying to avoid a collision with a two wheeler, police said, adding the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Paderu.

In another major accident, a private bus rammed into a stationary lorry at Piduguralla town in Guntur district this morning killing three persons, including two elderly sisters, while nine other passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Narsaraopet.
 

The bus was on its way to Nellore from Hyderabad, police said.
