The West Bengal Fisheries Development Corporation will set up football-themed stalls outside big puja pandals where cooked and uncooked fish items will be sold to puja revellers.
This has been done keeping in mind the Durga Pujas and the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the city from October 8, a senior officer of the SFDC told PTI.
With a football-themed decor depicting the picture of a stadium, grass turf, galleries and dressing room, the stalls will have three sections named after the three big football clubs of the city Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting, the officer said.

"From each of these three sections of each stall, preparations associated with fish linked to these clubs like 'Chingri'(prawns) linked to Mohun Bagan, 'Ilish' (hilsa) associated with East Bengal and Mughlai cuisine with Mohammedan Sporting will be sold.
And keeping in mind 11 players of a team, there will be 11 different dishes," the officer said.
Both cooked and uncooked items will be sold, he said.
The stalls will be set up at prominent puja pandals in Lake Town area, Lebutala Park in central Kolkata, Baghbazar in north Kolkata besides pujas organised by women in Tollygunge and a few other places, the officer said.
"Hopefully, this idea will attract more people to our stalls as Durga Puja, fish and football are so closely associated with the people of West Bengal," the officer said.
Various food items like 'Chingrir Malaikari, 'Baked Galda Chingri', 'Baked Bagda, fried silver 'Pompano, a combined dish of Illish and Khichdi will be sold from these stalls, he said.
