Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today laid the foundation stone for a new base for paramilitary SSB in the Hingoli district of Maharashtra.
This will be the first reserve battalion centre for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which is the country's mandated border guarding force for its frontiers with Nepal and Bhutan.
The unit in Yelki village of the district will be used to house approximately 1,000 troopers of the force.
SSB chief Arun Chaudhary, other senior officials and state ministers were present during the event.
