Trains were delayed for about 50 minutes following a technical snag in the signal system near the railway station here today, officials said.
Three level crossing gates at Ramamurthy Salai, Vadiyan Street, and Thanthi Mara Theru could not also be opened due to the failure of the signal system.
The Tirunelveli-Erode passenger train was stopped at Allampatti Kausika River bridge while Mysore-Tuticorin express train at the railway station here due to the snag, officials said.
The Nellai-Erode train was detained for 30 minutes.
