Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices tumbled Rs 172 to Rs 37,585 per kg in futures trade today as buyers trimmed their positions following weak cues from global market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 172 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 37,585 per kg in a business turnover of 1,102 lots.

The metal for delivery in December too lost Rs 154 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 38,240 per kg in a business volume of 25 lots.

In the international market, silver was trading 0.29 per cent down at USD 16.23 an ounce in Singapore.

Marketmen attributed the fall in silver prices at futures trade to a weak trend in precious metals overseas as dollar gained on the back of US economic data.
