Six killed as car collides with truck

Six youths were killed and one was injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Kanpur-Agra highway here, police said.

The incident occurred when the car carrying seven persons, all about 25 years of age, from Shikohabad was on its way to a water park in Agra, Circle Officer of Etmadpur police station Akhilesh Bhadoriya said.

The car suddenly lost control, went across the divider and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction, the CO added.

While Ankit, Ramvir, Harinder, Kailash, Neelu and Layek Singh were killed on the spot, driver of the car, Avinash, was injured, he said.
 

Avinash has been admitted to a hospital, he said, adding, the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
