Six militants were killed in a gunbattle with security forces after some armed militants attacked a check point with heavy weaponry in Pakistan Khyber Pakthunkhwa province in the wee hours of Saturday, security sources said.

The militants attacked a security check point of the Frontier Corps at Spin Tall Qala in Hangu district of Khyber Paktunkhwa bordering restive Kurram agency late night yesterday, resulting in a gunbattle that continued for hours.

Earlier yesterday, at least 40 people were killed when twin suicide bombings ripped through the central market of Parachinar town in Kurram Agency, one of seven tribal districts where Taliban militants are fighting government forces.
