South-west monsoon remained active in Uttar Pradesh causing rains and thundershowers at most places over the state.
The MeT office here said the amount of rainfall recorded in Badaun was 20 cms, Kasganj 19 cms, Najibabad 18 cms, Nagina 16 cms, Chhatta 14 cms, Powayan 13 cms, Kiroli and Mathura 12 cms each, Nighasan 11 cms, Balrampur, Chandradeepghat and Shikohabad 10 cms each, Atrauli, Jalesar and Etawah 9 cms each, Katarniyaghat and Dhampur 8 cms each, Shahabad, Khalilabad, Hathras and Shahjahanpur 7 cms each.
The department has forecast rain and thundershowers as very likely at a few places over east UP and at isolated places over west parts of the state.
Vigorous rainfall occurred in parts of the state, where five deaths were reported in rain-related incidents in the past two days.
