Soybean futures fall on weak overseas cues

prices fell by Rs 53 to Rs 3,799 per in futures trade today following trimming of bets by the speculators in tune with lower overseas trend.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, for delivery in May fell by Rs 53, or 1.38 per cent, to Rs 3,799 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,85,280 lots.

Similarly, the delivery for current month contracts dropped by Rs 53, or 1.34 per cent, to Rs 3,755 per with a business turnover of 24,310 open lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in futures prices to cutting down of positions coupled with falling prices in global market.
