Soybean prices strengthened by Rs 24 to Rs 2,846 per quintal in futures trading today as traders preferred to build up positions on the back of firm overseas markets cues.
Marketmen said, traders were expanding holdings tracking robust global markets, mainly registered an uptick in prices in futures trading.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for most traded second contract of July rose by Rs 24, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 2,846 per quintal, with an open interest of 80,920 lots.
The delivery for immediate contract of June also advanced by Rs 23, or 0.84 per cent, to Rs 2,768 per quintal, having an open interest of 66,420 lots.
