Spot demand lifts refined soya oil futures by 0.50%

Amid uptick in demand at domestic spot market and restricted supplies from producing regions, refined soya oil prices edged higher by 0.50 per cent to Rs 647.05 per 10 kg in futures trade today.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month September rose by Rs 3.25, or 0.50 per cent to Rs 647.05 per 10 kg with an open interest of 67,630 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in August contracts moved up by Rs 3.05, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 636.55 per 10 kg in 11,540 lots.

Traders said besides upsurge in demand in the spot market, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
