A youth today attacked a girl with a bomb and a sharp blade on the platform of Bahirgachi railway station in the district after the latter rejected his proposal of marriage, the police said.
The girl, a resident of Krishnagar Mhakhola, went to her relatives' place at Bahirgachi and while returning home, she was attacked by the youth, the police said adding the girl sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
The local residents caught hold of the youth, who was later on identified as Debu Mondal, and handed him over to the Railway Police.
The girl later lodged a complaint with the GRP and IC, GRP, Ranaghat Subhas Roy said Mondal would be produced before a local court tomorrow.
