Sugar prices ended lower at the wholesale market in the national capital today, driven by adequate stocks on higher supplies from mills against muted demand.
Marketmen said ample stocks on the back of higher supplies from mills against subdued demand mainly pulled down sugar prices.
Reports of higher output also dampened the sentiment, they said.

Meanwhile, India's sugar production rose 7 per cent to 110.90 lakh tonnes till January 15 in the current marketing year while mills have so far this season received contracts for exporting 9 lakh tonnes of sweetener.
Sugar production in India, the world's second-largest producer and biggest consumer, stood at 103.82 lakh tonnes in the same period of 2014-15 marketing year (October-September).
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 eased to Rs 3,150-3,280 and Rs 3,140-3,270 against last close of Rs 3,230-3,390 and Rs 3,220-3,380 per quintal, respectively.
Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 slipped to Rs 3,000-3,120 and Rs 2,990-3,110 from previous levels of Rs 3,020-3,200 and Rs 3,010-3,190 per quintal, respectively.
In the millgate section, Mawana, Kinnoni, Asmoli, Dorala and Budhana were quoted lower at Rs 3,040, Rs 3,120, Rs 3,100, Rs 3,045 and Rs 3,040 instead of Rs 3,090, Rs 3,200, Rs 3,180, Rs 3,100 and Rs 3,090 per quintal, respectively.
