Sugar prices decline on ample stocks, weak demand

Sugar prices were down by Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on steady inflow of arrivals from mills amid limited offtake by stockists and bulk consumers.

Marketmen said increased supplies from mills amid subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers due to scarcity of cash in the market, led to the fall in sweetener prices.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slipped by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 3,720-3,820 and Rs 3,710-3,810 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also dropped by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,410-3,540 and Rs 3,400-3,530 per quintal.
 

In the millgate section, sugar Modinagar, Budhana, Dhanora and Thanabhavan declined by Rs 40 each to conclude at Rs 3,440 and rest all at Rs 3,460 each per quintal.

Sugar Asmoli, Khatuli and Chandpur fell by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,510, Rs 3,500 and Rs 3,440, while Mawana by Rs 25 at Rs 3,450 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 36.00-39.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,720-3,820, S-30 Rs 3,710-3,810.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,410-3,540, S-30 Rs 3,400-3,530.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,450, Kinnoni Rs 3,540, Asmoli Rs 3,510, Dorala Rs 3,450, Budhana Rs 3,460,Thanabhavan Rs 3,460, Dhanora Rs 3,460, Simbholi Rs 3,520, Khatuli Rs 3,500, Dhampur Rs 3,450, Ramala Rs 3,410, Anupshaher Rs 3,410, Baghpat Rs 3,420, Morna Rs 3,420, Sakoti Rs 3,450, Chandpur Rs 3,440, Nazibabad Rs 3,400 and Modi nagar 3,440.
