Sugar prices were down by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following ample stocks on increased supplies amid shrinking demand at prevailing levels.
Marketmen said pick up in arrivals from mills along with wanning of demand from stockists and bulk consumers at current levels, led to fall in sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 50 each to settle at Rs 4,050-4,130 and Rs 4,040-4,120 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also slipped by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,730-3,810 and Rs 3,720-3,800 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Sakoti dropped the most by Rs 50 to Rs 3,720, while Kinnoni, Dhanora, Budhana, Thanabhavan, Khatuli, Dhampur, Anupshaher, Baghpat, Nazibabad, Morna and Chandpur lost Rs 30 each to settle at Rs 3,810, Rs 3,740, Rs 3,750, Rs 3,740, Rs 3,790, Rs 3,730, Rs 3,720, Rs 3,740, Rs 3,720, Rs 3,720 and Rs 3,720 per quintal respectively.
