: An object, suspected to be a petrol bomb, was hurled at the residence a DMK ward secretary at Anna Nagar area in the city today, but there were no casualties, police said.
They said Maruthupandian, DMK ward secretary at Vaigai colony in Anna Nagar, had returned around midnight after attending the party's state conference at Tiruchirapalli when he heard a loud noise and saw smoke in the area in front of his house.
Marthupandian had received threatening calls for the past few days,warning him against attending the conference, police said.
