T'gana: One more dies of swine flu; total 6 deaths since Aug

A fresh death has occurred in Telangana due to swine flu and other complications, taking the total number of deaths in the state to six since August last year.

Six deaths and 116 cases of swine flu have been registered in Telangana since August 2016, a state health official said here today.

According to a swine flu bulletin issued by the state health and family welfare department on January 6, as many as 2,717 samples had been tested till January 5, of which 107 were found to be positive and the number of deaths due to swine flu and other complications was five till that day (January 5).
 

Sufficient stock of medicines and adequate testing kits are available in the state, the bulletin had said. The bulletin advised citizens to take precautions like reporting to hospitals upon noticing first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing cough and body pains.

It advised doctors to admit patients and isolate them in case of suspecting swine flu.
