Teenage girl injured in stove burst dies

A teenage girl, who sustained severe burns when a stove burst yesterday, has succumbed to her injuries at a hospital here.

Police said 17-year-old Gulaksha, a resident of Navneet Nagar falling under Krishna Nagar police outpost, sustained severe burns when the stove she was cooking on suddenly burst yesterday evening.

She was rushed to the Swarn Jayanti Hospital where she died this morning, deputy superintendent of police Anil Yadav said. A case of unnatural death has been registered and police are looking into the matter, he added.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Chhabi Agrawal of Krishna Vihar Colony today committed suicide by hanging herself.
 

Police said she hanged herself in the bathroom of her house using a scarf.

The deputy superintendent of police said they have registered a case and and are looking into the matter.
