Teenaged girl struck dead by lightning; woman injured

: A 19-year old girl was struck dead by lightning and another woman seriously injured at Thirunallur in the district today, police said.

The two were returning home after working in the fields when they were struck by lightning, killing the teenager on the spot.

It was raining at the time the mishap occurred,

The injured woman has been hospitalised, police said.
