Teenager arrested for involvement in murder of liquor trader

The Police today arrested a teenager for alleged involvement in the murder of a liquor trader on August 25 last near Kotinada near Aska town in Odisha's Ganjam district.

The 17-year-old was stated to be one of the main accused in the murder of Ganesh Bisoi (45). After opening fire on the victim, the accused allegedly hacked him with sharp weapons, said inspector in-charge of Aska police station, Baleswara Gidhi.

On September 5, the police had arrested two persons - Balaram Swain of Kandha Kharida and Bhimasen Sahu - and seized the weapons used in the murder, he said adding, the police also took two others - Ananat Patnaik and Sunil Nayak who were in jail, in remand.
 

At least five more persons were involved in the murder and search was on to nab them, he said.

The incident occurred over dispute in the liquor trade, Gidhi added.
