Telangana CM meets 11-yr-old who underwent major heart surgery

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today fulfilled the wish of an eleven years old boy who recently underwent a critical heart surgery, by meeting him at a hospital here.

Konda Sarath is currently admitted at Apollo Health City. The boy had said he would like to meet the CM.

Dr Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Girish Warrier and Dr Pushpa Devi of 'Make a Wish Foundation' were present on this occasion.

Sarath, resident of Narmeta mandal in Jangam tehsil, told the CM during the meeting that he wanted to become a doctor.

Rao promised to finance his education and also promised to make a fixed deposit of Rs five lakh for the family.
 

Hospital authorities said that Sarath would be leading a normal life now as the operation was a success.

Sarath was born with a defect in the heart, which caused unpurified blood to circulate. He had a single ventricle instead of two, and defects in the heart valves and major blood vessels, doctors said.
