Mentha oil prices drifted lower by 0.23 per cent to Rs 913.20 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced exposure amid muted demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June declined by Rs 2.10, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 913.20 per kg, in a business turnover of 25 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in May was down by 60 paise, or 0.06 per cent, to Rs 930 per kg in 92 lots.
Analysts said that offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the spot market against ample stocks position on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to the slide in mentha oil prices in futures trade.
