Thanjavur road accident: Toll rises to five

The toll in the road accident involving two buses near Ammapet in the district rose to five as another woman succumbed to injuries at Thanjavur medical college hospital here today, police said.

Kamakshi(50) of Narasingamangalam near Valangaiman, died early this morning, they said.

Four persons were killed and 28 others injured when a state transport corporation bus collided with a private one near here yesterday.

The mishap had occurred when the state transport corporation bus was proceeding from Thanjavur to Velankanni, police had said.
