Two persons have been arrested for posting murder threats on the social media against women from the Muslim community visiting malls and taking food openly during the holy month of Ramzan, the police said today.
The posts threatened to kill the violators if they did not pay heed to the warning, they said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Muhammed Sadiq (23) from Kuppepadavu and Abdul Sattar (35) from Kadeshivalaya near here, police said.
A case under various IPC sections including 153A (promoting enmity between religions) has been registered against them, they said.
A complaint regarding the posts was filed with the cyber police station here after which the two accused were arrested yesterday.
