Three arrested with 2.25 kg heroin

Three persons were arrested today and 2.25 kg of heroin, worth over 11 crore in international market, has been seized from two places in the district, a senior police official said.

The three have been identified as Kuldeep Singh, Surinder Singh and Mumtaj, Superindent of Police (D) Harkawal Singh Khakh told reporters.

He said, of the three, Kuldeep and Surinder are brothers and were arrested on specific input from Vidhipur area of the district while Mumtaj from Mehatpur village, and the narcotics were recovered from them.

Kuldeep and Surinder are residents of Kapurthala while Mumtaj a resident of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, he added.
