Three minor sisters allegedly drowned in Kulbhara river near Chand village in the district today, an official said.
"The girls were taking bath when one of them slipped into deep water and her siblings tried to rescue her but all of them drowned in the process," said Chourai tehsil Sub Divisional Officer, Umesh Trivedi.
The deceased were identified as Payal Raghuvanshi and Kushboo - both twins (13)- and their sister Chamak (11), he said.
Bodies of the trio were fished out and handed over to their family members after post-mortem.
