Three robbers arrested for stealing idols from temple

Three robbers were arrested today for allegedly stealing idols worth at least Rs 60 lakh from a temple in Parlapally village of Mogullapally mandal, three months ago, police said.

Three persons identified as Azmeera Ravi, Vasam Ramesh and Chintam Prakash stole idols from Chennakeshavaswamy temple, Rural Superintendent of Police LKV Ranga Rao told reporters.

During interrogation, they confessed to the crime, the police said, adding idols worth Rs 60 lakh were also seized from them.

One V Satyam of Kothapeta village in Mangapet mandal was also arrested in connection with the robbery.

The Mogullapally police has registered a case and has sent the accused to remand, Rao said.
