Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi of causing "hinderance" to the central government's ambitious water taxi scheme on Yamuna.

Tiwari, accompanied by his party leaders, today inspected 8 km-long Sonia Vihar route of the proposed water taxi scheme.

He said that despite the central government willing to introducing "such as good" scheme, the facility is not being extended to the people of Delhi due to "non-cooperation" from the Kejriwal government.

Tiwari, MP from North East Delhi, said he will make efforts for start of the scheme as part of the route passes through his Lok Sabha constituency.

"I will make every effort that this taxi scheme is started by the central government tiding over the hindrance of Kejriwal government."

He said the scheme will develop tourism in the area and generate employment for the locals.
