TN NCC contingent which bags top honours calls on Governor

: The National Cadet Corps of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands which was adjudged as the best in Naval and Air Wing Directorate called on Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah here today.

Among the 17 directorates, the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar Directorate was adjudged the best and received trophies from Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, an official release said.

Cadet E Jessy Jenifer was adjudged the Best Girls Cadet in Senior Wing (Army) category while Cadets Anush Kumar, Dhanasekar, Vignesh, Sundarapandi and Arokiaraj K won the Gold medal in Navy Ship modelling competitions.

Cadets Hariharan and Koventhan won the silver medal in air wing control line aerobatic competitions, it said.
 

Congratulating the cadets on their achievement, Rosaiah said the NCC by undertaking such activities, has added a whole new dimension of value and purpose.

The Governor also urged the cadets to involve themselves in community based service activities.
