"Miscreants belonging to the minority community must be arrested immediately for restoring peace in the trouble-torn districts," President of Janajati Dharma Sanskriti Suraksha Manch B B Jamatia told reporters here.

The Manch demanded that the army should be given orders to comb violence-hit areas and restore peace.

Stating that citizens of the country were being attacked and rendered homeless in BTAD, he said, "We demand that the Centre and state government look into their grievances at the earliest.

"We urge the government to detect and deport infiltrators back to Bangladesh from BTAD and return the land to Bodo villagers from whom it was originally taken," Jamatiya said.

A delegation of the Manch, led by Jamatiya and General Secretary Jaleswar Brahma, visited a dozen relief camps in BTAD and allegedly found refugees crammed together, lacking sleeping mats, lighting, proper sanitation and medical care.
